Dr. Burton Worrell, O.D.
Optometrist
Dr. Worrell graduated from University of California, Berkeley, with honors in Optometry. He is a member of the Santa Clara County Optometric Society, the California Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and has done investigative work for the FDA related to contact lenses and their biochemistry. He worked as the eye doctor for the San Francisco Giants for 10 years, and for the Commissioner of Baseball for 10 years as the eye doctor for the Major League Umpires. He has also served as a Clinical Professor at the University of California in children’s vision conditions, and in 28 Flying Doctor missions into Mexico, Central America, and South America. He serves on the first established implant team for miniature telescopes for patients having low vision from macular degeneration and other partly blinding conditions. Dr. Worrell founded a 5- doctor group practice in San Jose, Advance Vision Center of Optometry, PC., with multi-specialties in various areas of eye care fields of care. He serves his community by being on several school boards and committees.

Dr. James Shin, O.D.
Optometrist
Dr. Shin has been practicing optometry and has been a member of the American Optometric Association for over 15 years. He focuses on helping children prevent progressive myopia through Orthokeratology, or Ortho-K, nighttime contact lenses. He received his Optometric Doctorate degree from The Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois in 2001 and received training at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, The Veterans Affairs Hospital in Montrose, New York, and The Veterans Affairs Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. In addition to focusing on Ortho-K contact lenses, Dr. Shin also fits specialty contact lenses and co-manages with LASIK/cataract surgeons. He is a native of the Bay Area and enjoys skiing, basketball, watching the Forty-Niners, and the Warriors.

Dr. Afsaneh Mahajerani, O.D.
Optometrist
Dr. Mahajerani is a Bay Area native. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Davis and her Doctorate Degree in Optometry from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1997.
With the assistance of UC Berkeley School of Optometry, Dr. Mahajerani helped implement a community optometry care facility at the Martin Luther King Jr. Clinic in Richmond for the indigent. She later received the Association of Schools and College of Optometry (ASCO) Ambassador Award for outstanding leadership. In addition, she was selected to serve on the admission board of directors at Pacific University College of Optometry.
Dr. Mahajerani obtained extensive experience in the pre and post-operative care of LASIK surgery while working with Dr. Mandel, a corneal and refractive surgeon. Dr. Mahajerani ran her own practice in San Jose for over a decade before relocating. She is delighted to have returned to the Bay Area and is excited to offer comprehensive eye care for the entire family, including contact lenses, and laser evaluations. On a personal note, she speaks Farsi and enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Dr. Robert Lee, O.D.
Optometrist
Dr. Robert Lee received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science at the University of California, Los Angeles. He then received his doctorate of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry.
Dr. Lee specializes in specialty contact lens fittings such as rigid, sclera and hybrid contact lenses.
He has been a consultant and performed clinical research for major biotech and tech companies for contact lenses and other eye care projects.
He has volunteered in optometric missions throughout California and Oaxaca, Mexico. In his spare time, he tries to keep in shape in order to keep up with his young son.
